Open Call: EGO

This month we are running a call for work for our Resonance 104.4 FM radio show, Gwaith Sŵn’s Sonic Darts. This show will be broadcast on Monday 7th February at 10pm GMT. We are interested to hear sonic works across all fields be it composition, field recording, sound art, music, ‘art art’ , spoken word , radio plays or anything that can air on radio. The only requirement that the submission is related to, exploring or confronting the presence of Ego in the creative process. Ego can mean many things, it could be about decision making, using randomness for idea generation, struggles with megalomania, band fall outs, collaborations gone wrong, it can be interpreted and there is no right or wrong way to approach this theme, so we welcome a broad range of ideas on how something can relate, just send something in!

This month instead of asking for a written description of how the work relates to the theme we ask for a spoken word account of up to 50 seconds on how it relates to the theme, this is with the wish of ours that the show incorporates many voices and not just that of the narrator. Deadline for submissions is Wednesday 2nd February 2022 and should be up to 7 minutes in length including the description so we can include as many as possible.
